May - Arthritis Month!

Greetings and Happy May. If you’re new to our EnergyFirst community, we welcome you! Did you know the month of May was named for Maia, ancient Roman Goddess of springtime and renewal? May is indeed a great month to renew and revitalize. One way to do so is to take a “wellness inventory”. Do you need more rest, time for fitness, or focus on healthy eating? When you make yourself a priority and gain more energy and vitality, those around you benefit as well.

We also toast women of all ages during Women’s Health Week May 9–15. A question for our female readers: are you doing all you can for your health? How about taking this opportunity to review your nutrition regimen? For example, do you know what the 5 most important nutritional supplements are for women–and why? Read this short piece and see if you’re getting what you need each day.

May is also National Mental Health Month. Many studies have examined the way certain foods can influence how we feel. For example, did you know that depression–which affects at least 40 million American adults–appears to be partially caused by consuming too little of one important item?
