5 Things To Know Before You Vaccinate Your KidsIf you have children, you’ve probably been told by health care providers and by school officials that you must have your kids vaccinated against a long list of diseases. Note the use of the word “must”, as in, “you have no choice.” Do you have a choice? Yes and no.According to the Institute for Health Freedom, public health officials have recommended and enforced vaccines for a small number of highly infectious and communicable diseases for over a hundred years. The first vaccines were for individual diseases: smallpox, typhoid fever, rubella, measles, and polio. Parents were required to show proof of immunization to enroll their children in school. Memories of the Spanish Flu Pandemic of 1918 were still fresh in people’s minds, so parents went along with the program. But then the list of required vaccines grew…and grew. In 2006, the average American child has had 33 doses of 10 different vaccines by the time they turn five. And there are 200 new vaccines in the research and development pipeline, including one for HIV. Development of new vaccines is not necessarily a bad thing, in and of itself. What’s happening, though, is that federal authorities—in the form of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC)—have gotten in the habit of recommending any new vaccine the minute it receives FDA approval and is placed on the market. Then your state health officials see the new recommendations and promptly add them to the list of vaccines that your kids are required to have to enter school. No one double-checks the CDC. Your state officials don’t do their own tests—they don’t have the time or the budget. Why is this bad? Well, for one thing, a leading study published in Pediatrics magazine that found no significant link between mercury in vaccines and autism, ADHD and developmental delays contained fraudulent data. It turned out that the lead researcher, Dr. Tom Verstraeten, was on the payroll of vaccine-manufacturer giant GlaxoSmithKline, yet the magazine failed to mention this. (Source: November 3, 2003 press release from Moms On A Mission For Autism.) Here are the 5 things you must know before you vaccinate your child:
When the government steps in and says you must vaccinate your child, they are making parental decisions for you. Shouldn’t it be your decision whether or not you take the risk of vaccinating your child against a killer disease, with the chance that the vaccine could cause a catastrophic reaction or death? In many states, vaccines are not mandatory if the parents object to them on religious, philosophical, or medical grounds. However, the government is working hard to close this loophole, and is actually trying to require compulsory HIV vaccination, even though HIV is transmitted through bodily fluids…which means children are at very low risk. If you’re concerned about vaccinating your child, you should strongly consider taking the alternative route of building up your child’s immune system and educating him or her about how diseases are transmitted.
