Probiotic Complex Blend
Four billion live organisms, four strains, one capsule a day.
A double-strength probiotic blend of the four bacteria strains most commonly used in fermented foods and in research: Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, Bifidobacterium and Streptococcus thermophilus. It is the simple, unglamorous version, without a dozen exotic strains added to lengthen the label.

What a probiotic is, without the mysticism
Probiotics are live microorganisms, mostly lactic acid bacteria, of the same kind found in yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut and other fermented foods. Your digestive tract already contains an enormous population of them. Diet, travel, stress and courses of certain medications can change that population, and a probiotic is simply a way to put familiar strains back.
Four strains, chosen for evidenceL. acidophilus, L. bulgaricus, Bifidobacterium and S. thermophilus are the strains with the longest history of food use and the most published work behind them.
Double strengthOver four billion live organisms per capsule at the time of manufacture, so the count that reaches you is meaningful rather than a rounding error on the label.
Or eat the foodIf you regularly eat live yogurt, kefir or fermented vegetables, you may not need a capsule at all. We would rather say that than sell you one you do not need.
How to use it
One capsule daily, with or shortly before a meal. Consistency matters more than timing: the effect of a probiotic depends on taking it regularly rather than occasionally.
Store it somewhere cool and dry, and keep the bottle closed. Live cultures do not like heat and humidity.
If you are pregnant or nursing, immunocompromised, or taking prescription medication, talk to your physician before starting a probiotic.
Where it fits
Digestion responds to what you eat far more than to any capsule. Fiber, water, vegetables and regular meals do most of the work. A probiotic is a small addition, and it works best alongside those rather than instead of them.
People often take it with Organic Fiber, and with Greenergy, which already contains a probiotic blend of its own.
