Organic is Best!
In the last five years or so there has been an rapidly growing organic movement, and for good reason. Here are some of them. Commercially raised cattle and chicken are fed grains that are grown with pesticides, and they are fed growth hormone to make them grow faster so they can be sent to slaughter earlier. The result is that their meat and eggs contain growth hormone, anti-biotics, and pesticides. Farm raised salmon are fed anti-biotics and growth hormones, as well as dyes (to make their flesh pink), which gets stored in their flesh. 80% of soy beans are genetically modified to resist damage from pests. Research is underway to test what potential dangers there are in ingesting GMO products. 80% of all produce (grains, fruit, and vegetables) has pesticides, herbicides, and other poisons sprayed on them. Then they are coated with wax, which is again toxic. When we eat the flesh of these animals and plants, the toxins that are contained within them are then stored in our bodies, contributing to disease.
Choose organic, free-range meat, fish, eggs, and organic produce as much as possible. Although you may pay more for organic and free-range products, keep in mind that you are not only saving your health, but the environment as well, in choosing organic products.
