SEPTEMBER / 2012

Get Energized with EnergyFirst!

Dear ,

Happy September to you and your family! Life is great at EnergyFirst as we work each day to fulfill our mission of making the world a healthier, more naturally energized place to live. If you haven't already done so, please check out some of the work we do to fulfill our mission on a daily basis. We just surpassed 31,000 Facebook Fans - make sure to check out our Facebook page and give us a "Like." We're short of 30,000 Twitter followers, so if you use Twitter then start following us today for some great daily tips! We're also on Google Plus, so find us there if you use Google. And don't forget our EnergyFirst Blog.

I just climbed Mt. Whitney (tallest peak in the contiguous US) with my son and a group of fellow Rotarians the other day for the 4th time in 3 years. Check out our YouTube channel for a video of my 7 day journey across the entire John Muir Trail last summer that ended at the top of Mt. Whitney. It's a 7 minute video of struggle and triumph. I hope you enjoy it!

This month is National Cholesterol Education Month. Many of us tend to eat foods with more fat during autumn and winter. Slow cooked roasts, one-pot dinners, and more bread. Heres a healthy tip to help reduce your cholesterol - try adding more garlic into your meals. One of our feature articles this month "Control Your Cholesterol Naturally" offers more healthful tips. We also offer a natural cholesterol formula to assist the cholesterol reduction you get naturally from your daily EnergyFirst Shake.

Often overlooked during the cooler months is our bodys need for Vitamin D. Try to spend some time outdoors - autumn is a perfect time to exercise outdoors without becoming overheated. Just remember the sunscreen and try to get some exercise while you're at it. To learn more about Vitamin D, check out our article "Do I Need Vitamin D?" below.

As always, make sure you get enough lean protein in your diet. It can be tempting to load up on carbohydrates and other comfort foods during the autumn and winter months. Healthy lean protein will reduce your cravings for sugary foods and drinks. Check out our article "Protein For Fall Fuel" for more info.

Let's embrace the fall as we continue living, growing, and striving to be the best we can be!

Healthy tidings,

Gerry Morton
