An Easy New Year's Resolution'Lose Weight", 'Get Fit", 'Eat Right", those three resolutions are among the most popular New Year's resolutions according to the US Federal government (www.usa.gov). Not surprising, right? These might be also in your top list of resolutions. If so, we applaud you and support your commitment to good health! The following three tips can help you achieve your resolutions: (1) Write it down. There is something powerful about actually writing down your commitments. It makes it real and helps as a reminder of our commitments. (2) Talk about it. This is all about accountability. The more people we tell and enlist to support us in achieving the resolution the higher chances of success. (3) Try again and again and again. Stay positive, stay committed. If you get off track, forgive yourself and get back on track. The fact that you have identified an area for improvement and made the commitment to change is a big accomplishment in itself. Congratulate yourself and get back to it! We want to offer you one easy New Year's resolution that will bring your tremendous benefits and is achievable for anyone, everyone – no matter how busy you or what challenges you may face. #1 Easiest New Year's Resolution - Stay Hydrated!Commit to staying hydrated. This means drinking the minimal amount of pure water necessary to keep your body hydrated. The amount of water necessary is different for each person – 8 glasses of water a day is not a "one size fits all". How much pure water do you need? Therefore, if weigh 150 pounds, you need at least 75 ounces of pure water a day. This amount should be spread out over the day. Remember, you cannot drink too much pure water, as long as it is not all in one sitting. Your body can only absorb about 4-6 ounces at any given time. So the key is to drink water consistently throughout the day. Why do you need water?Water is the most important component of your body, and is essential for its proper functioning. The quality of your muscles, bones, organs and brain, and their biochemistry, their resistance to disease, and their longevity, is dependent upon the amount and purity of the water you drink.
How do you know if you are hydrated?Your urine should be almost clear once every 24 hours. Remember: Thirst is not a good guideby the time you experience thirst, you are already dehydrated. This year I resolve to stay hydrated because it is the easiest thing I can do to improve my overall health! |
