What is rBGH and why is it not good for you?

The rBGH makes cattle grow more quickly than they otherwise would, enabling them to produce milk, beef, and cheese more quickly. This works much more in the interest of the manufacturer than it does the cow or us for that matter.

Cattle fed rBGH are more prone to develop health problems, including udder infections and reproductive issues, while many of them go lame. To combat these problems, farmers feed their animals antibiotics which further exacerbate the problem.

When our kids eat meat or cheese and drink the milk from these animals, their systems are ingesting not only the rBGH, but also the antibiotics these cows have been fed!

We encourage you to seek out organic milk and produce where possible. That ensures that you won’t be getting the hormones, antibiotics, and pesticides that come with other non-organic options.
